Free & Cheap ways to get traffic to your blog

1. Email signature: This is by far the most effective way to advertise free online. Most free and paid email service allow you to setup a signature for your outgoing messages. This also has the advantage of creating a viral effect especially if you send out good free content / info which can in turn be forwarded to other people. And your signature will of course be seen by all.
2. Join forums and post: Postings can be as simple as just replying to any message in the forum and or sharing your knowledge. After a while, you will be allowed to advertise in some section of most forums. Never forget to set up your profile well to include your signatures at the bottom of your post.
3. Write and submit articles: If you are very good in an area you can join article websites and submit your articles for free. Just like forums, you are allowed to have a signature too which people that read your articles will see. Some good forums/article websites are www.warriorforum.com,www.ezinearticles.com,www.squidoo.com
4. Offline advertising: Never forget to advertise offline using print media, handbills,posters, banners, etc. They can really go a long way.

Having said that i also need to advise you to have your website or blog online first and having good traffic before you think of adding adsense codes and other affiliate links.

1. If you start a fresh blog without any content or much content, google will know your plan and might ban you completely.
2. The most important reason is that there is no point putting adsense and affiliate links on your blog if no one is coming to it. So get traffic or visitors first then when you add your links/codes, they will be happy to click on some of them that are relevant to them.
